Town Council
The Altadena Town Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Altadena Community Center located at 730 E. Altadena, Dr. (directly west of Altadena Sheriff’s Station). Altadena Town Council meetings are recorded and televised during the month on Charter cable channel 56.

Town Council meeting agendas include opportunity for public input.

ALTADENA TOWN COUNCIL COMMITTEES AND CHAIRPERSONS:
Some of the duties of the Town Council have been delegated to various focused committees.  Below are the committees and the councilpersons that chair them.

The Executive Committee:
Chair: Dr. Sandra Thomas
Purpose: Act as a steering committee formulating recommendations for Council’s Action.

The Art Committee:
Chair: Dr. Sandra Thomas
Purpose: To facilitate design of banners, signs, and the flags for the Altadena community.

The Election and Nominating Committee:
Chair: {TBA}
Purpose: To oversee the elections and nominate the new Executive Committee.

The Emergency and Preparedness Committee.
Chair: Tecumseh Shackelford
Purpose: To keep our community updated on the appropriate emergency responses in cases of natural or other disasters in reference to health and safety information in our community.

The Public Relations Committee:
Chair: Greg Middleton
Purpose: Keeping the community informed on relevant and/or important events going on with the Town Council.

The Traffic, Streets and Roadways Committee:
Chair: Okorie Ezieme
Purpose: To facilitate actions as associated with the needs of the community in regard to traffic, streets, roadways, and public safety.

The Altadena Beautification Committee:
Chair: Michele Zack
Purpose: To identify areas that need attention or improvements and work with the proper authorities in order to facilitate change that beautifies the Altadena community.

The Education Committee:
Chair: Amy Cienfuegos
Purpose: To facilitate the gathering of pertinent information regarding education in reference to our local schools, and/or school board decisions that may impact the Altadena Community.

The Website Committee:
Chair: Brent Musson
Purpose: To maintain the Altadena Town Council Website and to explore Internet operations and report back to the Executive Committee how the council may better utilize the Internet in order to affectively serve the Altadena Community.

The Finance Committee:
Chair: Doug Colliflower
Purpose: To oversee finances as associated with Altadena Town Council Business

The Land Use Committee:
Chair: Mark Goldschmidt
The Land Use Committee is a standing committee of the Altadena Town Council. The committee’s purpose is to review and deliberate on issues pertinent to zoning, codes, and other property and real estate issues concerning Altadena. The committee makes recommendations for action to the Town Council.

Land Use Committee meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in the Altadena Community Center located at 730 E. Altadena Drive (directly west of the Altadena Sheriff’s Station).

Purpose: To provide a public forum to review and deliberate discretionary projects. Public comments will be considered as part of the review and deliberation process concerning the unincorporated area of Altadena. The Committee makes recommendations in writing to the Town Council, who intern and in writing make their recommendations to the appropriate Hearing Officer or Department of Regional Planning prior to any upcoming hearings.
