STATEWIDE FLEX ALERT – TUESDAY 9/6, 4PM-9PM

Home  /  News  /  Breaking News  /  Current Page

We need your help to avoid heat-related rolling power outages and keep the lights on in California as record heat continues to strain our state’s electric power supply.

Californians have come together to lessen the strain on our electrical grid, but we still need your help as temperatures continue to reach triple digits across much of the state.

Check on Your Neighbors

You can make a difference and help avoid tragedy by calling, texting or visiting vulnerable people. Offer to pick up groceries, medication, and other necessities. Older adults, young children and babies, people with chronic medical conditions and those who are pregnant are most vulnerable.

Check out our heat wave factsheet and learn more about how you can protect yourself and others during the extreme heat.

Stay Informed

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay informed and connected. Call 2-1-1 to find a local cooling center, for non-emergency help and for questions. Or go online for a map of cooling centers near you. Call 9-1-1 for heat-related illness.
