As we approach the upcoming weather conditions due to Hurricane Hilary, the L.A. The County Emergency Operations Center is in operation to ensure that we are able to respond as needed.
The County of Los Angeles remains committed to the safety and well-being of its residents. City officials urge all residents to stay informed, take necessary precautions, and follow guidance from emergency management authorities.

LA County Parks to Close
August 20 & 21 Due to Hurricane Hilary

 

  1. The County of Los Angeles Parks system will close Sunday, August 20 and Monday, August 21 due to Hurricane Hilary. Out of an abundance of caution, all LA County Parks, buildings and facilities will remain closed, including, but not limited to:
  2. Picnic Shelters
  3. Playgrounds
  4. Multi-use Trails
  5. Restrooms
  6. Botanical Gardens and Arboretums
  7. Lakes and Swim Beaches
  8. Pools and Aquatic Centers
  9. Natural Areas and Nature Centers
  10. Performance Venues
  11. Additionally, all programs and classes are cancelled.
  12. While parks are not fenced in, visitors are encouraged to stay home.
  13. The LA County Parks staff have been working around the clock in preparation of Hurricane Hilary and will remain at parks to monitor safety conditions and impact.
  14. The region is expected to experience possible heavy rainfall, high winds, flooding, and thunderstorms. Stay away from tall structures such as trees, light poles, picnic shelters, and playgrounds.
